Lamberg and Schenker
Schenker had dealings with Ernst Lamberg throughout the period November 1922 to December 1924. These concerned the bequests made to Schenker in the will of his long-standing piano pupil, Mrs Sofie Deutsch, whose death occurred on January 5, 1917, and whose will took some time to prove. Lamberg was first in contact with Schenker on November 20 and 21, 1922, when there was a dispute between the Figdor family and the Verein on the one hand, and artists (including Schenker) on the other, as to apportionment of funds. Then in late 1923 and 1924, when the Verein disbanded, Lamberg oversaw the allocation and transfer of funds for the Sofie Deutsch stipends for impecunious talented composers, on which Schenker was the sole adjudicator, to the Akademie für Musik und darstellende Kunst.
