Floriz,

It's in the post! Everything ‒ the lot ‒ just mailed off. 1 I'm absolutely shattered, dead. 2 Tomorrow Mrs. von Eisl will pack my things for me and in the evening or Wednesday morning [I shall be] off. 3 More the moment I reach the [Karer] [?Pass].

Footnotes

1 On Monday July 4, Schenker mailed the preface, table of contents, two sets of revised proofs, his suggestion as to the title-page, and the dedication page of Kontrapunkt 1 off to Cotta (see CA 115). In fact, Schenker still owed Cotta some text for the firm's publicity blurb; Schenker sent this on July 17 from Karerpass (CA 117).

2 Prior to delivering the prelims of Kontrapunkt 1 he had received and corrected the proofs of his edition of the Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue on June 3 and had returned them by June 20. Moreover, his teaching year would not have finished until about June 25. This accounts for his exhaustion.

3 Cf. Schenker's diary for July 3: "Beendigung der „Einleitung“ zu II1 , Absendung, u. Abreise nach dem Karerpass ." ("The 'Introduction' to Counterpoint 1 finished, sent off, and departure for the Karerpass."). — His arrival date in Karerpass was July 7.
