Eine Stunde nach Fertigstellung u. Absendung des Briefes an dich 1 gieng ich zum Arzt. Zum ersten Mal geschah es, daß mir das Ohr gespült wurde, u. ein schrecklicher Block kam heraus, der mir Alles sagte. Nun bin ich ruhiger, ich höre wieder. Dieses will ich [?hoch] in Freude nachgeschickt haben. Die Schrift u. der Ton des Briefes soll st du en dir [?nur] vom tauben Zustande her begreiflich werden. Hoffentlich geh ich morgen auf eine Tagestour, hörend, sehend. Augenblicklich „ungünstige Witterung“

An hour after completing and mailing off of my letter to you, 1 I went to the doctor. For the first time, my ear was washed out and a horrid mass came out that explained everything to me. Now I am calmer, I can hear again. I wanted to send you this follow-up news with great joy. The writing and the tone of the letter should convey to you [?just] what it's like from a deaf person's standpoint. I am hoping to go on a day-long tour tomorrow, with my hearing and sight intact. At the moment the weather is looking "unfavorable."
