Austrian politican, Chancellor of Austria from 1911 to 1916. He disbanded the Reichsrat (the legislative body) in 1914 and governed in an authoritarian style. He resisted constant appeals to recall the parliamentary representatives and for that reason was assassinated by Friedrich Adler.
