Austrian pianist, piano pupil of Leschetizky in Vienna, also of Jadassohn and Reinecke in theory and composition at the Leipzig Conservatory. He taught at the Stern Conservatory, Berlin 1903-07; toured widely, eventually settled in St. Louis, USA. His Studienbuch was first published in 1909, 3rd edn Munich, 1920.

No correspondence between Schenker and Galston is known to survive.
