Moriz Benedikt

Subeditor (1872-80), then associate editor (1880-1908), finally editor-in-chief (1908-20) of Vienna's leading liberal newspaper, the Neue Freie Presse . He was a powerful and influential figure in Austrian politics and society.
Benedikt was involved, if only peripherally, in Schenker's abortive attempt in 1912 to create an Organization for Creative and Performing Artists. No correspondence between the two men is known to exist.
