Footnotes

1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in the diary entry of May 22, 1924 (p. 2671): "Von Hammer (K.): vertagt die Sitzungen auf die nächste Woche." ("From Hammer (postcard): postpones the sittings until next week.").

2 Pentecost (Whit Sunday) fell on June 8 in 1924. The sittings for Schenker's portrait, which had begun on May 7 and continued until May 14 (see Schenker's letter of May 3, JOB 94-3, [8]), resumed in Hammer's studio on Wednesday, June 18 (see the postcards sent by Hammer on June 16 and 17 (OJ 11/36, [15] and OJ 11/36, [16]).
