Narrow, short streeet in Vienna's third district (Landstraße), briefly Schenker's home. It runs north from the top end of the Rennweg to Lagergasse, crossing Zaunergasse and Marokkanergasse.

Schenker lived at Traungasse 1 with his mother, Julia Schenker, from November 1892 to October 1896 (evidence from postcards and envelopes from Maximilian Harden and Breitkopf & Härtel), and that for part of that time, Schenker's sister Sophie (Shifre) was living with them. According to Schenker's diary (November 23, 1917), his mother made professional life difficult for him, including "obstructing" his teaching work. A letter from Schenker to Valerie Violin (OJ 6/6, [5], December 30, 1917) states that Julia sold off the furniture and so "dissolved the household," after which Schenker moved to Reisnerstraße 18 on his own.
