The easternmost region of Croatia.

Slavonia lies between the Save and Drau Rivers, and to the east on the Danube. Between 1699 and 1848 it formed part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, between 1849 and 1918 part of the Kingdom of Croatia and Slovenia, after 1919 part of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, later part of Yugoslavia, and since 1998 part of Croatia.
