The Schönbrunn Palace Zoo.
Located in the grounds of the Schönbrunn Palace in the 12th district (Hietzing) of Vienna, the Tierpark was opened in 1752 by the Habsburgs, and today is the oldest, still operative zoo in the world. At the beginning of the 20th century under the guidance of Alois Kraus, it was converted into a modern zoological garden, which with 3,500 animals of 700 different species is one of the world’s most celebrated zoos.
