Footnotes

1 Receipt of this letter is not recorded in Schenker's diary.

2 This letter is not known to survive, but its sending is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/3, p. 2428 (April 28, 1922): "An Deutsch (Br.): nenne, was ich an Photographien besitze; bin nach wie vor bereit zu helfen, obgleich auch die Methode des Drei Masken Verlags zu empfehlen ist; will durchaus nicht einer Verbilligung im Wege stehen. Mache ihn auf Bekkers Angriff aufmerksam." ("To Deutsch (letter): tell him which photographs I own; am still willing to help, even though the Drei Masken Verlag's method is recommendable as well; certainly do not want to get in the way of a [cost] reduction. Draw his attention to Bekker's attack.").

3 Paul Bekker, "Musiker-Faksimiles", Frankfurter Zeitung (April 25, 1922), a copy of which is preserved in Schenker's scrapbook at OC 2, p. 60.
