Footnotes1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/6, p. 2687, July 4, 1924: "Von Prof. Altmann (K.): nennt den Preis der 167 Blätter, kämen ungefähr auf 6 Millionen Kronen, muß also verzichten." ("From Professor Altmann (postcard): gives me the price for the 167 pages; it would amount to approximately 6 million Kronen, so I have to do without.") Schenker's writing to Altmann, which is not known to survive, is recorded at OJ 3/6, p. 2683, June 25, 1924: "An Prof. Altmann (K.): ob die Stimmen zur Matthäuspassion vorliegen." ("To Professor Altmann (postcard): whether the parts for the St. Matthew Passion are available."). |
