Biographical summary

Emerenzia Türtscher was the daughter of a wealthy Galtür farmer. About 1900, she married Franz Anton Türtscher. The couple had four children: Adolf, Franz, Angela, and Ida. In 1905 Emerenzia acquired and managed the Gasthaus Rössle in Galtür. In the early 1920s, the family acquired the Alpenhaus Fluchthorn, the management of which Adolf Türtscher took on, while the Gasthaus Rössle was transferred to Franz Anton.

The family Türtscher is mentioned in two letters to Schenker from Felix-Eberhard von Cube: OJ 9/34, [13], July 6, 1928 and OJ 9/34, [21], June 25, 1930.
