Hermann Paasche
born Feb 24, 1851; died Detroit, April 11, 1925

German statistician and politician. Paasche was a member of the central council of the German National Liberal Party, and from 1903 to 1909, and then again from 1912 to 1918, Vice-President of the German parliament (Reichstag). During World War I, he was opposed to unrestrained U-boat warfare, and spoke out for a Peace of Rapprochement.
