Anton Door

Austrian pianist, teacher, and editor, pupil of Czerny and Simon Sechter. Door made international concert tours, and was professor of the advanced piano class at the Vienna Conservatory 1869-1901. He was a member of the Brahms Circle.
Door was one of the editorial team that Universal Edition assembled at its inception in 1901, among which Schenker was numbered; Door edited works by Beethoven. He was joint founder with Julius Epstein in 1879 of the Wiener Tonkünstler-Verein.
