German music publishing house, founded in 1793 in Bonn, but moved to Berlin in 1870. Simrock published works by J. S. Bach (notably his Well-tempered Clavier (1800)), Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Dvořák, Bruch, and was the principal publisher of Brahms's music.

Simrock and Schenker

Simrock published Schenker's Ländler für Pianoforte, Op. 10 (1899).

Correspondence between Simrock and Heinrich Schenker survives as OJ 14/24 (1898-1900: 6 items), one letter to Jeanette Kornfeld (= Schenker) as OC B/258 (1913), and correspondence with Oswald Jonas as OJ 36/227 and 240 (1963).
