Footnotes1 Schenker’s diary for this day records: “Mrs. Pairamall tells me that she advanced Dr. Siroki 140 Kronen at the patent office, but that she is 'covered'!!! An abyss of the most reprehensible greed: she is prepared to pay the named gentleman a fee of 720 Kronen and does not observe that she is thereby revealing the comedy by seeking 'cover' for a fifth of this sum.” 2 Probably the Polish composer Franciszek Ksawery Brzezinski (1867–1944).
