Footnotes

1 Intermezzo, introduced on January 31, but never identified.

2 In addition to the Soirée de Vienne, Kaff has been studying two Liszt piano pieces since January 31, one of which is the “Canzonetta del Salvator Rosa.,” from Années de pèlerinage Book II (Italy), the other unspecified. Which of the nine pieces comprising his Soirées de Vienne (arrangements of waltzes by Schubert) she is working on we are not told. In Spring 1913 she worked on Nos 1 (Aę major), 4 (Dę major), 6 (A minor), and 8 (D major), and in 1913/14 she continued working on No. 8, which involved octave technique.
