Bach-Busoni Chaconne, beides kein Vergnügen: WeisgärberWeisgärber mußte seine Wärme dämpfen. Die Fragmente aus Offenbach Opern kürzen {3140} wir uns ab, an Strauß gemessen ist das eine sehr niedrig stehende Musik.

The Overture to Indigo [and the Forty Thieves] by Johann Strauß – far above everything else that has been written in this vein! — After teatime, a walk: one half of the Ringstraße! — At 7 o'clock [on the radio], Weissgärber-Friedmann: Brahms Op. 25 and Bach-Busoni Chaconne, neither a pleasure: Weisgärber was obliged to mute his warmth. We stop listening to the excerpts from Offenbach; {3140} measured against Strauß, this is music of a very low standing.
