Denn in Wahrheit handelt es sich noch immer um den Wahn, in „moderner Richtung“ Fortschritte zu erzielen: die Esel sind noch immer vom Epigonentum eines Brahms u. [von] der Fortschritt[s]kunst eines Zeml. überzeugt. Das allein ist des Pudels Kern! Nur zu! Sie werden auch diese Sache einmal verstehen, es wird aber zu spät sein für die kommenden Talente. For in truth it remains a question of the delusion of making progress "in the direction of modernity." The fools are for ever convinced by the epigonism of a Brahms and the progress-art of a Zemlinsky. That alone is the crux of the matter! More power to you!
