Sollte es Ihnen um 4 Uhr lieber sein – könnte ich auch um diese Zeit kommen. Verzeihen Sie, dass ich grade den Sonntag wähle, aber in der Woche kann ich halt gar {recto} nicht abkommen. Footnotes1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/1, pp. 3147–48 (December 9, 1927): "Von Weisse (K. expr.): wünscht mich Sonntag zu sprechen, macht Vorschläge bezüglich der Stunde." ("From Weisse (express postcard): he would like to speak with me on Sunday, makes suggestions with regard to a time.") 2 This is probably the idea of a musical periodical run by Schenker's pupils, with the purpose of disseminating his theories; Weisse's next two postcards (OJ 15/15, [24] and OJ 15/15, [25]) are implicitly related to the same matter. |
