Nach 1 meiner Rückkehr vom Lande finde [ich] Deine l. Nachrichte 2 vor. Es freut mich sehr, dass es Euch dort gut geht, u. dass es Euch doch möglich ist, die Ferien usque ad finem zu geniessen. 3 — Das Deinerseits deponierte Geld wirst Du nach Eurer Rückkehr ungekürzt vorfinden, u. werden wir dann beraten, was zu machen. Mache Dir nach dieser Richtung keinerlei Sorgen. — Sehr erfreut bin ich zu hören, dass jegliches Ehehindernis gefallen ist. Ich wünsche Euch das allerbeste! Herzliche Grüsse u. I am much delighted that things are well with you both there, and that the way is now definitely open for you to enjoy your vacation usque ad finem [right through to the end]. 3 — After your return, you will find the money deposited on your part undiminished, and we will then advise you what to do. Have no worries on this front. — I am delighted to hear that all impediment to your marriage has been rescinded. I wish you both all the very best! Footnotes1 Receipt of this lettercard is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 2/14, p. 2139, September 9, 1919: " von Mozio (Kbr.): kündigt an, daß er den Sommeraufenthalt deckt u. daß wir uns keiner Sorge hinzugeben brauchen wegen des übrigen Geldes. ("from Mozio (lettercard): says he has our summer stay covered and that we do not need to worry about the remaining money."). 2 It is probable that this refers to two letters, neither known to survive, the writing and/or sending of which is recorded in Schenker's diary at: (1) OJ 2/14, p. 41, August 23, 1919: " An Mozio (Br.): werde telegraphisch verständigen, wenn die Wochensendungen einzustellen sein werden; überlasse ihm die Entscheidung, wann u. wo ich das Geld bezw. den Rest des Geldes abholen könnte; frage ihn, ob er mir 500 kg Holz verschaffen könnte, wobei ich nicht versäume, so genau als möglich meine Situation zu umschreiben; schließlich teile ich die Ehetrennung Lie-Liechens mit." ("To Mozio (letter): will inform him by telegram when the weekly transfers should stop; turn over to him the decision on when and where I could pick up the money, or the rest of the money, as the case may be; I ask him whether he can secure 500 kg of wood for me, and I do not miss the chance to describe my situation as precisely as possible; and, finally, I tell him about Lie-Liechen's divorce."); (2) OJ 2/14, p. 52, September 1, 1919: "Gegen ½9h zum Postkästchen in Altenmarkt mit Briefen an Mozio u. sein Bureau, worin die Wochensendungen ab 6. d. abbestellt werden u. speziell Mozio an den Inhalt meines letzten Briefes erinnert wird." ("Around 8:30 to the mailbox in Altenmarkt with letters to Mozio and his office, in which the weekly dispatches are discontinued starting on September 6, and Mozio is specifically reminded about the content of my last letter."). 3 Heinrich and Jeanette were staying at the Schloß Tantalier in Altenmarkt, and their stay, due to be curtailed by two weeks by visa restrictions, had just been approved through to September 15 (diary, OJ 2/14, p. 50, August 30, 1919). |
