I Medici, first performed in Milan on November 9, 1893: the first part of Leoncavallo's planned historical trilogy Crepusculum, the remaining two parts of which remained unfinished. 3 This became "Anton Bruckner," which appeared in Die Zukunft 5 (October 21, 1893), 135‒37, and was republished as part of the composite article "Über Anton Bruckner" in Der Dreiklang 7 (October 1937), 166‒76.
