Footnotes1 Ruine Aggstein: ruined castle in the Danube valley between Vienna and Linz, near Krems. The date in the postmark could be April 3, 13, or 23. 2 This letter is not known to survive. 3 Possibly Mrs. Evelina Pairamall, former pupil of Schenker, Polish Jew. However, she was certainly in Vienna in 1936, but may have returned to Poland in 1938. |
