1 This letter is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/9, p. 3048, March 16, 1927: "An Deutsch die Skizze zurück: die meine reicht aus; der „Tonwille“ im Archiv ist von mir gespendet, nicht vom Archiv erworben!" ("To Deutsch, the sketch returned: mine is sufficient; the copies of Der Tonwille in the Archive were given by me, not acquired by the Archive!").
