1 Receipt of this letter is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/2, p. 2301, December 11, 1920: "Von U-E: Anbot 500 Kronen für die V. Auflage Niloff." ("From UE: notification of 500 Kronen for the fifth edition of Niloff."). The date at the head of the letter is underlined in crayon by Schenker.

2 The fifth edition was sent to the printers on February 28, 1920 with a planned print-run of 1,000 copies, and UE took possession of 996 copies on November 9, 1920 (Verlagsdruckbuch UE1999).
