2 Schenker is replying to Salzer’s postcard of September 15, 1934 (OC 44/37), in which Salzer proposed a visit on Tuesday (September 18) or Wednesday (September 19). Schenker’s diary for September 18 records a visit by Moriz Violin; visits by Karl Rothberger and Paul Breisach are noted on September 19 (OJ 4/7, pp. 3945-46).

3 Schenker's diary records at OJ 4/7, p. 3946, September 20, 1934: "½12 – ½1h Dr. Salzer: gibt u. empfängt Bericht, meldet sich zur Stunde" ("11:30–12:30 Dr. Salzer: gives and receives news; reports for his lessons.").
