Footnotes1 The writing of postcards to Salzer and Oswald Jonas (OC 5/18, 55) is recorded jointly in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/7, p. 3944, September 13, 1934: "An Jonas u. Salzer (K.): Notizen an Altmann senden." (To Jonas and Salzer (postcards): send information to Altmann."). These relate to a postcard (OC 44/12) that Schenker received from Wilhelm Altmann the previous day, recorded on the same page of the diary. 2 Klemperer’s visit took place on Tuesday, September 11, 1934. It had been scheduled for September 10, but Klemperer had had to call it off and reschedule (OC 44/28, undated; OJ 4/7, p. 3943, September 10, 1934). Schenker sent something to Klemperer for which the postal receipt dated September 20, 1934 survives (OC 44/29, for which Klemperer's thanks are probably OC 44/27). |
