Mein lieber Herr Dr Salzer! 1

Ihnen u. Ihrer verehrten Gattin beste Grüße von uns Beiden

My dear Dr. Salzer, 1

The first letter I found waiting for me here was from our dear Hans Weisse 2 ; it put me in good spirits which I gladly pass on to you: he is staying at the Atlantic Ocean in Tenants Harbor , Maine; he owns a car which both of them can drive! Perhaps even the little ones can also do it?

Best wishes to you and your dear wife from us both,

Your

Footnotes

1 Writing of this and other postcards is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/7, p. 3417, June 18, 1934: "Karten an: Bamberger, Elias, Dr Salzer, Weil, Post Trafik." ("Postcards to Bamberger, Elias, Dr. Salzer, Weil, mailed at the tobacconist.").

2 Weisse’s letter (OC 44/41) had been sent from Tenants Harbor on June 2, 1934. ("from Dr. Weisse (letter): he would like to have Der freie Satz soon; owns a car, is staying at the seaside 'with several families that are friends' (his cup of tea??).") (OJ 4/7, p. 3917).
